I am having trouble

Hi Again,
I am having trouble with these foods. I am making up a list to go grocery shopping and there deosn't seem like many. The other thing that gets to me is you have to follow receipes. I am not one to follow these. What can I do? I really want this to work for me. I am going to start tomorrow.

Thank you,

First off --- you don't have to follow any recipes. I don't make hardly any myself.
I do like the "fake" mashed potatoes --- other than that --- I have not followed one from the book.
Take a long look at the foods to enjoy list for Phase 1. There are many possibilities
to choose from --- any type of lean meat/poultry or fish. Most vegetables except for the starchy ones. Eggs, turkey bacon, nuts, beans/legumes.
If you make a meat/potatoe/vegetable supper, then the only thing you are not able to eat during phase 1 is the potatoe.
I started phase 1 today again and for breakfast I had 3 eggs over easy and 2 slices of turkey bacon. For snack I had 30 pistachios. For lunch I had a can of tuna with 2 tbls. of light canola mayonnaise and 10 grape tomatoes. For my afternoon snack I had a cucumber with hummus on it. For dinner I am having steak marinated in a low carb steak sauce and the cauliflower mashed potatoes and a salad.
I whipped up this easy soup to have as lunches this week --- that is fine for phase 1.
I know you say you don't like recipes, but this one is easy and tastes soooo good:
1 - 1 1/2 lbs. lean beef cut into bite size chunks
1 can mushrooms
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can lo sodium beef broth (all cans are the tall ones)
handful of frozen diced onions
a few sprinkles of italian seasoning
some chopped garlic or you can use garlic powder
Let it all simmer together and cook until the meat is tender --- about 3 hours.
It is really good with a salad.
Don't be discouraged before you start --- you won't end up following this WOE. I have been doing this since Sept. and have lost about 25 lbs. --- the biggest thing is that it did cut way down on my cravings.
You can do it if you set your mind to it. Sorry to be so long,
Ellen
