Just wondering if people stayed on Phase I longer than the 2 weeks or are planning to stay on it longer than the 2 weeks. Thanks!

The maximum you should stay on it is 4 weeks because it is to restrictive and you can burn yourself out on the foods and start to cheat.

Hi Jessica,

I stayed on phase I for just two weeks, so did my DH. I lost 9, he lost 13. I decided to follow Dr. A.'s advice to do two weeks only. Since I wanted to lose 83 pounds, I knew I was in this for the long haul, so the sooner I got to phase II meant the sooner I got to my new WOE (way of eating).

Anyway, I started SB August 28, and have lost 38 pounds!! DH has lost 43 pounds and is about 10 pounds from his goal.

Good luck!!

Congratulations Jill, what success!

I too stuck with Dr. A's reccomendation and stayed on Phase one for two weeks. I am on Phase three now and if I ever have a "cheat" day I will go back on phase one foods for a few days. It works really well!

Take Care,

Hey Jamah,

I remember you!! Way to go to you, too!! I'm so happy for you.

I do the same thing, but usually only for a meal or two. I call my phase "2 and 1/4", LOL. I do indulge occasionally, almost always out of the house, no more than once a week, usually end up being about 3 times a month (December excluded! LOL) Anyway, I find that if I go out to eat in the evening and go off-plan, I will have a phase I breakfast and lunch the next day, and leave it at that. Actually I usually eat a phase I breakfast most days anyway. I do much better with that for some reason.

Well, my phase "2 and 1/4" is one of my many coping strategies for not letting my large goal overwhelm me. I knew that I wouldn't be able to make it through if I didn't allow myself indulgences along the way. If it takes me longer to lose, so be it. I didn't gain 100 pounds in a year, it's more than OK if it takes me a couple to lose it.

Good to "see" you again, Jamah!!

Jill K.

Thanks Jill!

You have such a great attitude! I love my new lifestyle, and find the SBD to be SO easy. I too usually have a phase one breakfast, then a phase 2 lunch, phase 3 type snacks, and phase 2 dinners most of the time. I love all the foods on SBD.

I'm so glad to hear this WOE is working for you!

Take Care,

Jamah

i end phase 1 on friday, but i plan to start a modified, conservative phase 2...i only have about 10 more lbs to lose, which will prob. go slow, so i think it'll help the progress. I'm going to allow the things i really love.
