Am I doing this right?

Hi, I'm fairly new to this board and to SBD. I'm on day three of phase one. I feel like I must be doing something wrong, because really so far this hasn't been hard at all. I'm going to list what I've eaten over the past couple of days and if people could let me know if what I am eating is ok I would really appreciate it. One thing that probably makes it a little easier for me is that I don't mind eating the same thing everyday, as long as I like it. Ok, here it is:

Monday: Breakfast: 3 scrambled eggs with reduced fat cheese, 4 oz of milk

snack: string cheese, water

Luch: A large salad with lettuce, cucumbers, turkey, cheese, eggs, cottage cheese and a small amount of ranch dressing, and water

snack: string cheese, water

Dinner: a large chicken breast, steamed broccolli with cheese, 1/2 C cottage cheese and water.

Tuesday: Breakfast, lunch and snacks were the same as Monday

Dinner: a large pork cutlet with a small amount of the Atkins barbecue sauce

green beans

1/2 C cottage cheese and water

I also drink water throughout the day. And so far I haven't been hungry, had headaches or craved any sweets. Is that because I'm not doing this right? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi mumom!

The South Beach Diet isn't hard, it makes sense, we have a very balanced menu! You don't have to suffer to lose weight! Get that out of your head... =)

I think you're doing great, I just have a few things you may want to watch...

My suggestions:

-Make sure you're using all low-fat cheeses.

-Add veggies to every meal, even snacks.

-At dinner, eat a large serving of veggies first, then your meat, etc...

-Eat until you're satisfied, don't stuff yourself.

(I usually eat small portions, then stop, even if I feel a tad hungry still. I wait 20 minutes, and if I'm still hungry then I will go have some seconds, usually this works. My portions are SO much smaller than they used to be.)

This is a wonderful way of eating! Best of luck to you!

Btw, I never had headaches, or any of the side effects some people complain about.

Take Care,

Jamah
