Benefiber vs. Metamucil

Is there a reason Metamucil is so heavily recommended vs. other brands? My doctor recommended/suggested Benefiber - there isn't any taste and you can sprinkle it on your food or in any beverage and I find it much better than Metamucil (although it's a bit more expensive). I haven't thought to look at the label to see if I should be concerned about carb content. (I can't imagine that there would be - it's fiber!)

Please let me know!

Sorry no answers here but a question for you, does the Benefiber really work? I haven't started the diet yet but I'm worried about fiber issues. Thanks!

I'm on day 4 and don't feel like I have lost any weight because of what I believe to be bloating...I am wondering...once you take the metamucil...how long does it take to work? I work full time and don't need a catasrophe during the day if you know what I mean :)

This first time I took it I was very nervous about a catastrophe.

If only we could take it 15 minutes before EVERY meal to get that full feeling, only WITHOUT the "pushing things along" effect! That would help many a phase 1-er out there. I've found that lately I have to force myself to eat the snacks, even though I don't feel hungry. It's becoming routine, which feel pretty good!

Don't have to worry about any catastrophes with the Benefiber, either. The Benefiber is more like sprinkling grated parmesan cheese on your food or dissolving sugar in a glass of tea, rather than trying to drink a thick glass of Metamucil.

I have IBS and use Benefiber to contradict the "other" problem...since I've been on SBD, my condition has been TREMENDOUSLY better.

Ok this is what I see that are the differences.

Benefiber says to use 2 teaspoons in 8 oz. water if you choose to drink it
