SBD on the View

Hi ladies

I'm home today - I spend thursday in a school (practicum for grad school) and they have a snow day today. So I'm being lazy - as I should - it;s a SNOW DAY after all. In any case, I have the View on in the background and they just ran a teaser about diets. At some point in this hour (11-12 eastern time) they are going to compare Atkins, Zone and SBD to see "which diet is right for you". Just thought I'd let you ladies know.

Wish I were home to catch this one. Should be interesting, with Joy Behar a spokesperson for Jenny Craig.

Oh, well, not snow day here - but a COLD one, for sure! Think they'll ever cancel work for grownups for unusual cold?

HEY! are you calling teachers and other school staff not grownups??????????? LOLOLOL I'd take offense if I wasn't laughing so hard at your proposition. :) I think they should close work for grownups - and they do - when it;s dangerous for them to get to work. I think they do it for kids mostly because of the schoolbuses.

So, we're qualified to be doctors for our next jobs - didn't we all know it was the best one? I guess it's nice to have validation of our beliefs by an insider.

On the days off - may I revise my question to say "for the REST of us grownups?" Good recovery, huh?! (wink)

Love the revision! :) As far as the doc goes - I was just curious what he'd say and figured I'd update the rest of the community. We're right on track!

Any more updates?

What was their reasoning that SBD was better?

Besides the fact that it's well rounded, extremely healthy, very tastey, successful, and a way you can eat for the rest of your life to maintain a healthy body.

...... lol

LOLOL It was a very very quick segment. The doc said that he likes it because of the emphasis on whole grains and other good carbs, as well as low fat stuff - as opposed to atkins.

Hey Mel

I am hoping to get my mom on this as well! She's been doing home-made dieting for a while, but I think this will give her more structure. I'm bringing the book with me when I go over there tomorrow!

I heard the same from a doctor on CNN one day...South Beach is the best! I tried Atkins but it was too strict and also I was very afraid of all of the fat (my parents have both had heart attacks). It seems to me that men have better luck losing a lot of weight quickly on Atkins. But the heart attack risk is not worth it.
