JUST BEGINNING SBD

I am new to SBD and to this board. I did Adkins for 8 weeks and did not succeed. My husband has been on Adkins for 7 months and has done well. But now he's at his goal and would like to switch over to SBD. What will this do to his weight? Should he begin with P2? I'm beginning with P1, but am having a hard time figuring it all out. Bought/read the book, but no portion amounts in it. Found them on this board. With Adkins, I knew I could not exceed XX carbs in any given day. With the freedom of SBD, I am afraid I'm going to sabotage myself before I get started. Appreciate any help anyone can give me!

Thanks a bunch! I will check out the link. I've learned more from this board today than I did reading the book.

Any other tips from anyone are certainly welcome!

That's great you are finding out board useful, I think we have an excellent group of women here and you can ask just about anything (I think we have).

Hi, Pat - You won't sabotage yourself with SBD; you'll enjoy yourself eating plenty of real, healthy, "smart" food and learning better habits. Just keep checking back here and asking questions - we all try to keep each other on track.

Welcome!

You all are great! I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of "dumb" questions, but I'll try to see if I can find my answer first somewhere on the board. I feel that this will be a better WOE for me, cause I didn't feel Adkins was the most healthy. I love fruits (apples in particular) and am excited that I'll be able to enjoy them again.

You'll be hearing from me regularly! I weigh way too much and want to lose about 30 lbs. I am 52 yrs old, and I know it won't be easy (not as young as the rest of you!). But I am determined! When you can't breathe when you bend over to tie your shoes, it's time to do something about it!

No such thing as a dumb question here, the only dumb question is the on that doesn't get asked!
