For those of you just starting SBD, or even just thinking about starting, I thought I'd let you know what I've experienced. I am in day 5. My appetite at meals has GREATLY decreased. I know it is because of the snacks mid-morning and afternoon. Just keeps me full and the blood sugar level. For example, yesterday I had an omlette with 1/2 cup veggies in it for breakfast. 20 peanuts for snack. Lunch was 2 cups of salad. Can't remember what mid-afternoon snack was, but I did have one. Then for dinner, I had a grilled chicken breast and 2 cups of mixed veggies (broccoli, water chestnuts, snow peas, etc). I didn't think I was EVER going to get the veggies down, let alone the chicken breast. And didn't finish the chicken, because I knew I had to eat the veggies.

The amazing part of this is that before, I could've scarfed this plus much more down! But because I was eating things with much more sugar (corn, peas, etc)it was apparently letting my blood sugar spike and driving hungar pains.

Just wanted to pass on a little encouragement for anyone thinking about this WOE. And I have lost 6 lbs. I know this may fluctuate, but at least I'm heading in the right direction!

Thank you for sharing this! In 'preparation' for possibly starting, I spent the weekend limiting (greatly) my carbs. The hunger and the headaches had me thinking I could never make it during the week -- I'm a stress eater and work is a big cause of stress for me. So knowing that just a few more days and my body may start reacting differently helps me think "I can do it"

Thank you!

I'm also a stress eater, and work is very stressful. But I bought a jar of dry roasted nuts to take to work for a snack (couldn't see paying $.60 in the vending machine for a little packet). And I have just told myself that the only thing other than the snacks I take for myself, the only thing I can have is water. And I've been drinking plenty of that. But it does get easier! I am approaching this diet as if I were an alcoholic! One day at a time! And if I can make it thru 1 day, then good for me! If I made it thru 1, then I can do 2 days. Then 3, and 4, etc........... Hang in there, you can do it too.
