Confused about FF/SF

Hi! Today is my first day on phase 2. I weighed myself yesterday morning and lost a total of 5.5 pounds (this morning it was only 5 pounds). Anyway, I have the book and have been reading it, but I still get confused on some things. Why do we not want low fat mayo? Most things we buy are LF/FF/SF. Of course I picked up the LF mayo and then read that we don't want that. WHY?!?!
Next question - Do we only add one higher carb item a day or week. For instance, I had cereal this morning. Can I still have an apple later or should I save that for another day?
I am really happy with this WOE and I only have about 10 pounds to lose total - so now only 5. But since I just went back on my hrt yesterday, I'm sure things are really going to slow down. But that's ok because I feel good. NOW, if I could only get my dh changed over to this WOE. He's doing the Atkins and has lost about 15 pounds and wants to lose another 5. But he's afraid to make the change and start gaining again. So, I am slowly trying to change things so that they aren't that noticeable. Time!!!

Hi Diane,
Why do we not want low fat mayo? Most things we buy are LF/FF/SF.
Fat-free mayo has more sugar than full-fat mayonaise.
Do we only add one higher carb item a day or week. For instance, I had cereal this morning. Can I still have an apple later or should I save that for another day?
I would save the apple for another day.
