Hi Rhonda

What, if anything, do you use instead?

Thanks,

hey Rhonda, good to see you are still alive!

Hey Look!!! 11:11!!! make a wish....

Anyhow, maybe I wasn't reading thoroughly... When they do test such as this, they are talking about MASSIVE quantities of this stuff, right?

I don't specifically subscribe to all the sweetner talk, but I use Splenda. Depending on who you talk to and at what time, Splenda is good and bad for you. As time goes on, the best things are doing to be bad for you sometime. At least, that is how I look at it:) If it is my time to go due to over consumption of splenda, then that is how i will go.

This is intersting though. I think for every research Q& A against something , you'll find an opposite reaction elsewhere.

SteviaPlus is the healthiest alternative I've found. It is incredibly sweet, so it takes only a minute amount. It's been used for hundreds of years by South

Thanks, Ria. Yes, I'm alive, but somewhat unplugged as this time of year does not agree with me (even living in Florida). I can't wait for spring and Daylight Savings Time.

I hear you on that one. Something about right after Christmas that gets me too. I'm doing my best to keep moving through it. I refuse to get poopy, but sometimes.... I did find out that my BC (SHHHHH... dont' tell anyone...lol) is a stronger form for when I was a little bit heavier. I have my annual in Feb so she is going to adjust my dosage. THANK GOODNESS! TMI??? Probably so. lol. This year has been different I think because I spend time with my 10 month old nephew. he makes me laugh A LOT. I've made a new thing where once a month I'll go somewhere I've never been before. This Friday, it was Vidallia, Ga to eat Japanese food cooked in front of me by a Mexican man. lol. It was great! He gave me my chicken and asked me if I spoke spanish! lol

Anyhow, I'm in your neighborhood, kind of. It's rainy here in S. Ga (which is pretty much N. Fl). I was going to the parade in jax to see a couple of my kids march, but ya know what? I am off today! lol.

I'll be there with you until Spring... lol. My start of the spring is St. Patty's Day in Savannah, GA! YIPPIE!

Just because something doesn't agree with the SBD or Dr. Agatston doesn't mean it's not valid or not true. I think it is great that this link was posted. I reguarlarly check Dr. Mercola's site and have read his book the No-Grain Diet. I have followed many of his suggestions and have found healing from various ailments already. SBD is great, but I wouldn't discount all other advice and/or books. Dr. Mercola is an incredibly knowledgable doctor who has helped thousands of people heal through nutrition versus medication.

As for Splenda, while it is derived from sugar, it's NOT sugar. It has been modified by man and its structur has been altered, therefore it is hard to say what exactly it will do to your body. Don't get me wrong, I love Splenda, too, but ultimately, if this is about making a healthy lifestyle change, then why are we consuming processed foods and artificial sweeteners. From what I understand, mannitol is a better choice, but I have not done any kind of research on it myself.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion and to make their own judgements based on that.

I was in the Gator Bowl Parade with a Red Hat group. We were pretty crazy and won the judges specialty award. Woo Hoo!

My official start of spring (regardless of the calendar) is the Palm Sunday weekend art show in St. Augustine. My energy problem is time-of-year and beach withdrawal related. I am solar powered. ;-) It was drizzling here this morning and is still overcast. Yesterday, was sunny and in the upper 70's. We've had it so good compared to up north that I can't complain.

I haven't been to the St. Pat's. Parade in Savannah in probably 25 years. Even back then it was pretty overwhelming. My best friend lived there for 11 years, so I used to go up that way a lot. We even went for part of our honeymoon and stayed on the riverfront (Factor's Walk). There used to be a wonderful bakery there for many, many years called Gottlieb's that had the best ever bread pudding, but I heard it closed down. We're thinking about taking an overnighter up that way sometime soon. We also like Fernandina Beach and St. Simon's Island, but usually head south.
