As for his family, well, wether they believe you, support you, or deny you is just them ignoring or denying the fact. Maybe they don't want to get involved...who knows.
His drinking and behavior is a problem for you, and your children. That is all the validation you need.
I believe thatyou would and can find the support you do need from Al-Anon meetings. It is your choice, but, I feel like some other people, supporting you in a face to face situation would help you, with your burdens.

I know its hard, but do what you can to keep your focus on YOU regardless of his attempts to thro his own garbage in your direction.
