Atkins to South Beach?
| Wed, 02-20-2008 - 11:13am |
I went on atkins several years ago and lost 72 lbs..kept it off for two years...but over Thanksgiving and Christmas this year....going through menopause, and empty nest..I have gained 12 of that back..I went back on Atkins the first of the year to lose it before it really got out of hand..I went through induction and lost 6 lbs but I gained it back????? lost it, gained it, lost it, gained it...back and forth for almost 2 months now...I keep cutting back on food till I hardly get 800 t0 900 most days calories a day...still nothing..I walk every day if not raining 4 miles...I also do a workout for 1 hour at least 5 days a week...I have been looking at the south beach diet and wonder if anyone else has gone from Atkins to South Beach with luck...Should I buy the book..to add to the many I have...or just wing it and with the help of this message board? Thanks1

Hi,
Welcome to the South Beach board.
Atkins did not work for Miranda or myself. We found it a difficult diet to stick with. The South Beach on the other hand was like a breath of fresh air to us. The concept is very easy to understand, and the food choices and the reasoning behind it was clear.

About 10 years ago, I too lost about 40 lbs with Atkins.
