Sugar free chocolate?

I have always been a chocoholic.  Phase 1 did a great job of cutting down on my chocolate craving, but I don't think anything could take away my desire for chocolate.  I found a whole bunch of sugar free candy at the grocery store including Hershey's chocolate bars, Twizzlers, Resees Peanut Butter Cups, etc... I was wondering if sugar free candy is more "South Beach Diet Friendly"?  I know that no matter what I need to severely limit the amount of chocolate, but is one piece of sugar free chocolate better then one piece of regular chocolate?

Here are the nutrition facts for Hershey's Special Dark - sugar free:

Hi,

Yes, you can have sugar free chocolates. You will need to count these calories toward your 100 calorie sweet treat limit. Please keep in mind these chocolates are made with sugar alcohols and can cause a laxative effect.

I'm very sensitive to sugar-free candies --- let's just say I'm banned to the guest room if I try to eat more than a really tiny amount!

Now that I have been on SB for a while, I find that one square of dark chocolate savored slowly is much more satisfying to me than the whole (king-sized, as often as not) oversweet candy bars I used to eat.

I bought some fancy chocolate that had instructions for tasting (seriously!) --- it said to rub with your finger to warm it up, then smell it.

I'll have to look next time I'm at the store, because I bought several kinds of dark chocolate and it was one of those.
