Hi all, I found a bag of beans at the store that is for 15 bean soup. From my lesson with the ceral, I'm assuming I'm okay here. It's 35g serving (1/2 cup) and has 9g of fiber (correct??) 8 grams of protien and 1 sugar. Fat is low, etc. (thanks all for the lesson here)

They want me to prepare it with ham hocks and I'm looking for an alternative. Any ideas?? Or can I do boiled ham?? (which part do I buy to get that??)

In the seasoning packet there is hydrolyed soy protien but not oil. Everything else is basic, no sugar, nothing like that. The acutal packet is just 15 different beans.

When I make soups, I usually use a stock base for extra flavoring -- either chicken stock or veggie stock will also help with some added flavor.

Sounds yummy.
