a new crockpot, and I need some recommendations!

Mine slipped off the pantry shelf this morning and cracked in half :(

I really like mine....it had a large, oval stone dish that was removable and looked nice. Even though I really liked it, I think they are now made with features other than off, low and high.

Mine has a setting where you can do 4 or 6 hours on high, or 8 or 10 hours on low.

Here's the one I have. I got it 4 years ago as a wedding gift and have used it tons since, it's great.

I agree with the Destiny's article's criticisms of the Rival Smartpot. I got one as a wedding gift and it is poorly made (the lid fell apart after 3 uses) and it runs super hot. This is the only crock pot I've ever owned (I know it runs hot based on everyone's time estimates and well, common sense). I am tempted to replace it but since I have little crock pot experience, I don't know if it would be a worthwhile investment both of money and my limited storage space.

Cammy,

That one is rather nice looking. Mine had flowers on it and looked very 'dated'.

Karen - I actually like my crockpot, but I can't remember the exact model and am at work.

Here's my crockpot. I got this one for Christmas a year ago and I've used it on average once a week since then. I love this one. It's very simple, not alot of gizmos and 'stuff', but it cleans up great and the top forms a really nice seal, which is a problem I've had with alot of crockpots in the past. It's supposed to be good for travel as well. Although I have never taken mine anywhere.
