Questions about some items.......

On my search for SF ketchup and sauces I ended up in the diabetic section of the grocery store. They had lots of NSA and SF items. I bought Walden Farms SF ketchup, I have not tried it yet. I hope its good, has anyone here had it?

Also there were other items that interested me that I wonder if anyone here has had.

Walden Farms SF salad dressings...they had a good variety of flavors, all with 0 sugar.

Fifty 50 Peanut butter. Wonder if its SB friendly.....ingredients had other things besides just peanuts & salt.

Sans Sucre Lowfat SF mousse mix, came in a variety of flavors and looked good. Is this SB friendly?

Please let me know if you have tried any of these items and if they are good.

Thanks,

Nicol

The ketchup and salad dressings are legal.

I've never had that brand of ketchup.

Heinz makes a low-carb ketchup that I have used in the past. Tomatoes naturally have sugar in them so I wouldn't worry too much about finding "sugar free" ketchup.

A lot of people here don't seem to like the Walden Farms products. I have tried several of their salad dressings, and am fine with them.

The Fifty 50 Peanut Butter sounds good, but I am not sure about the hydrogenated oils.

I am not sure about the Mousse mix either, I see some food starches in there, I am sure someone will weigh in on these soon!

Sorry I forgot to provide the info. I found this on the web about the mousse.

I went to 3 different stores trying to find the low sugar heinz ketchup or a low carb one I saw before, but noone carried it. So that is why I ended up in the diabetic section. TDo you know who carries it? I went to Albertsons, Vons & Wal-Mart.

The ketchup I bought must not be made out of tomatos because it has 0 sugar. I hope it tastes ok. I don't use ketchup that often just sometimes on a LF burger or something. Also I still cannot find low sugar steak sauce....A1 used to make it but I cannot find it anywhere now. Anyone know where to get a good one?

Thanks,

Nicol

I was just looking over the ingedients in the mousse and I am thinking it is not good because of teh partially hydrogenated oils. Right?

You're right; the hydrogenated oils rule it out as a 'legal' option.

I forgot to answer about the ketchup...I found the Heinz one last summer, and I bought 2 or 3 bottles.

Thank you Joy. I am getting myself familiarized again with all the rules after being out of the loop for awhile. I used to know all this stuff like the back of my hand!

I'll keep looking for the other items, I have not went to Ralphs yet and a few others. We don't have a stop n' shop here.

Thanks again,
Nicol

I was able to find a large variety of legal condiments at Super Target. Have you looked there?
