I have my South Beach presentation today in biology. I am SO nervous - I spent over an hour last night trying to figure out what to wear - feel like I have to really look my best because after they see my b&a pic they are going to be scrutinizing my body the whole rest of the presentation! And I must have taken that b&a picture out like 10 times, and then put it back. Its emailed to my professor now, so its in there. I figured I really need it to give me some type of credibility - a lot of these people in the class already have some very bad ideas about SB(we were talking about each other's topics the other day in the hall before class).
The hardest part is going to be keeping to less than 7 min. Every time I practice I end up at like 20min! How do explain SB, the principals, and the benefits in 7min?

I don't know if I can post it here - the file might be too big, but I can email it to you. Its not too exciting when you already know about South Beach!
I did put a quote in it that I found in the book that I just love and I hadn't noticed before - Dr. A said something like - looking good is important, but having "beautiful, physically fit blood vessels is more important" I really tried to push that idea - that it wasn't developed for weight loss but for health.
What I really wanted to do for it (but ran out of time) - I wanted to prepare a whole day's worth of food - breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, desert, etc., lay it out on a table and take a picture of it. I thought that would be such a cool visual of what (and how much) you really get to eat. But I just couldn't get it finished in time.

Thanks!
I've been a stay at home mom for 10 years and I am going back to get my elementary teaching credential. I never finished school the first time (I had ds when I was 20) so I have a long way to go for my degree still!

Losing weight has definitely changed all other areas of my life for the better. My marriage is much stronger, I have more confidence, I'm a better parent, I no longer suffer from depression. It taught me that I am a capable, strong person and I am worth the effort - in anything I choose to do. That is what led me back to school. I do not think I would have believe in myself enough to go back if I had not found South Beach and lost weight. It changed who I am - inside and out!

I'm sure you did a great job!
Hi MichaelAnn,
Though I usually spend at least half an hour each day reading this board, yesterday was a crazy day.
