SBD/Kraft granola and trail mix!

I was just on the Kraft/SBD Healthy Living site:  http://www.kraftfoods.com/SouthBeachLiving//CMS_Templates/IFrame_Template.aspx

I clicked on "new products" and saw two kinds of SBD granola (in packets), a trail mix, and chocolate-covered soy nuts.  These snacks look so good!  Most of these have ingredients lists and nutritional panels available to view.

I've already been making homemade trail mix for some time.  When I was a member of the official SBD site I passed this by the nutritionist who indicated my trail mix was fine.    Also, I've been using very low-sugar granola occasionally, too.  In fact, the one I use has less sugar than the SBD granola packets.  ;-)

Has anyone seen these new treats in the stores yet?  Anybody tried any of them?

This was my trail mix Q and A on the official SBD site from a couple of years back, if anyone was interested:

The granola pouches have been in stores here for a couple months. I've had both flavors and they are pretty good. I like that its in a pouch, makes it perfect for mixing into a yogurt for a snack while I'm at school. I also have another brand of low-sugar/high fiber/low fat granola I use for eating like cereal - but the convenience of the packets is nice for using it for mixing.

I'll haven't seen the trail mixes yet.

I was reading your reply about the SB granola packets and you mentioned that there is another brand with low sugar/high fiber/low fat granola that you eat.

Kathy, here's my granola - it only has 3g sugar in a 30g serving:

Maggie, I signed up to receive the packet of new products from SB several months ago and it finally came in the mail the other day. There was a SB Tide Me Over drink pouch (which I already love) and one of the packets of granola mix. My DD was really excited to try the granola mix. She took one bite and said it was awful. Well, not satisfied that her tastes weren't playing tricks with her, I decided to try it as well. It was absolutely horrible. I did gag the rest of my bite down and trashed the rest of the packet. It was so bad that I didn't even want to put DH thru trying it when he got home. I think this was the cherry almond flavor. It tasted like it was pure almond extract...which I found was way too strong a flavor.

Now, let me also say that I usually like all the SB products. I like most of the frozen entrees as well as the frozen pizzas and as already stated, I love the Tide Me Over drink packets. But...I'm not loving those granola packs...ick!!!

I've been looking for the chocolate covered soynuts. You can bet I'll be buying some when I find them!!!

Rebekah,

I got the same packets in the mail. I really enjoyed the drink mix but haven't tried the granola yet. However when I compare it to Kashi bars, for being pretty much equal in terms of serving size and fiber content, the Kashi bars seem much more satisfying to me.

Interesting - I never took a bite of the granola plain. I've always immediately dumped the packet into my yogurt (usually my pre-flavored Dannon Lite and Fit since they sell it at school) I didn't really get ANY flavor from the granola, it just makes great crunch factor for the yogurt!

I use the same one Maggie does - BareNaked "Fit" Vanilla Almond. I also get mine in the health food section of Kroger.
