SWIMSUIT CHALLENGE: Are You Ready?

Losing weight is a life change, plain and simple. Your success depends on how ready you are to take on the challenge.
Successful dieters break down their goals into incremental stages, with mini rewards along the way. Being too detailed or having an all-or-nothing approach is a recipe for disaster. Fall off the wagon and you're likely to throw up your arms in defeat. Likewise, being too vague will leave you stranded and unfocused.
Let's talk about our goals. For some that might mean a number on the scale or inches lost. For others it could be about challenging yourself to set an exercise or fitness goal. Still others might want to commit to making small changes in their current lifestyle that might be holding them back from getting to the finish line.
We've got 6 weeks until Memorial Day. Together we can do it!

I'm still deciding on the swimsuit challenge.
Thanks - but genetics also plays a part in it, there is only so much one can do. My skin got extremely stretched out by pregnancy, I have literally 100's of stretch marks, some over 1in thick that I have had for 10yrs now. Then gaining and losing 70lbs took its toll. My skin is "puckered", it looks like the top of a drawstring bag when you pull the string right. It TRIED to go back, but there is no amount of lotions, oils or creams that can possible fix it. I already work out extensively, I am a size 2 with 19% body fat, and even have the outlines of a six-pack (there are just wrinkles around it) I think I have all possible bases covered and I am at a point where I feel pretty good about the way I look overall so I can just consider the wrinkled skin as a reminder of my weight loss journey.

Wowsa!!! That's a swimsuit of a girl's dreams, isn't it???
Glad you're joining us on this challenge, MichaelAnn. It's a great reminder that we're all in this for the LONG haul...a lifetime!!! And that there is more to achieve than just a number on the scale!!!
Good luck to all of us. May we all achieve our goals!!!

I guess - or maybe of a dh's dreams! Of course mine just rolled his eyes and shook his head at me when I wore a similar one to the neighborhood pool with all the PTA moms LOL! But I'm sure he will be more appreciative of it when its just the two of us in Jamaica!

That was my second thought!!! My first one was, 'geez, I wish I could wear something like that and look great in it'!!!
DH & I have been talking lately about a nice beach trip somewhere for just the two of us once we get to our goal weights. Could be a year or two from now, but it's a definitely something to work for and look forward to.
Have fun in Vegas and Jamaica, MichaelAnn. Sounds like some fun trips!!!

P.S. Totally unrelated, but thanks so much for that strawberry spinach salad recipe. We have really been enjoying that around here with the strawberries in season!!!

I'm in too....
Goals:
Drop 9 pounds (tomorrow is my weekly weigh-in day and then I will be able to see where that puts me. I might adjust this just a bit)
Exercise 5 days a week
Walk on break at least twice a week
Do my menu planning, make out a grocery list, grocery shopping and chopping veggies weekly to ensure my food stays on track :-)
