Question about fasting

DH and I lead the jr. high youth group at our church. In about three weeks we're going to be doing the 30 hour famine with the kids to raise awareness and money for world hunger. During that time we're supposed to not eat for 30 hours. They suggest drinking lots of fruit juice to keep your energy level up, however I know that fruit juice isn't great because it causes your blood sugar to spike. I have PCOS and am TCC, so I really don't want to raise my blood sugar.
As far as I can see, I have a few options. #1 is do a true fast and only drink water for 30 hours. #2 is cheat a little and only drink V8 for 30 hours. #3 totally cheat on the fast and sneak out every few hours to have a small snack.
Does anyone have any input or ideas? Thanks!

Hi,
I admire your service.
You could also consider doing a "portion" of the fasting like my mom and I do when our church does this 7 day thing b/c due to migraines, I can't fast in most fashions.
My mom completely gave up grain (which is a second love for her) and I gave up sodas.
You could give up everything that you possible can, but continue to eat every 4-5 hours a small amount of protein and drink something. You could do it privately, but I am sure that everyone who knew your situation would be in support of whatever decision you make!
It really is the thought, the support and the effort and you seem to have all that down!
