I Don't Understand This

For many many years my husband and I have been able to eat ANYTHING without feeling sick afterwards. Now it seems that when we both have something that is not SB legal, we both end up sick. I tend to get seriously sick almost as if I have the flu (I'll leave it at that). My husbands reaction isn't quite as severe as mine, his is more of an upset tummy. These are the very same foods that we have eaten for years. Does eating the SB way change your whole system or something? It's almost seems as if we are allergic to the bad stuff now! Once we start eating healthy the next day, we both start feeling better again. Any ideas what is going on with our bodies?

I so wish I would get sick when I eat something unhealthy.

Just looking at large quantities of food can actually turn my stomach.

I doubt that I will ever be at the point where a small amount of unhealthy food will bother me.

I don't think I have ever had that reaction by looking at large quantities of food, if anything I think I have the opposite reaction.... I start

I don't think its about time - the first time I had the "reaction" to something unhealthy was 3 months after starting South Beach. I had been perfect the whole time, not even one, tiny BITE of anything off plan. It was my bday, I had lost 24lbs and dh and I had a date night at the Cheesecake Factory. We SPLIT one piece of cheesecake for desert and he had to pull over on the way home for me to puke. Then I spent the whole rest of the night in the bathroom. So I started having this reaction right away.

OMG - Cathy, I cannot STAND buffets! I also can't look at large quantities of food or watch people eating huge piles of really unhealthy food without it turning my stomach.

Last weekend we went to a birthday day party at a bowling alley/arcade. They have a buffet, and quite a few of the parents ate at it. They came back with their plates and I had to get up and walk away. They had huge baked potatoes, fries, all sorts of fried stuff, and like 4 pieces of pizza - on ONE person's plate! I serious could not believe the stuff people were coming back with! And most of them didn't even eat half of it (how could they!)

We were at IHOP a couple weeks ago and I had to switch seats with dh. A guy at another table had a huge pile of pancakes, covered in blueberries with TONS of whipped cream, then he put bacon all over it and COVERED it with like half a jug of syrup. I almost puked watching him! I tried so hard to just focus on my veggie omelette and fresh fruit, but it really made me lose my appetite!
