I Don't Understand This

For many many years my husband and I have been able to eat ANYTHING without feeling sick afterwards. Now it seems that when we both have something that is not SB legal, we both end up sick. I tend to get seriously sick almost as if I have the flu (I'll leave it at that). My husbands reaction isn't quite as severe as mine, his is more of an upset tummy. These are the very same foods that we have eaten for years. Does eating the SB way change your whole system or something? It's almost seems as if we are allergic to the bad stuff now! Once we start eating healthy the next day, we both start feeling better again. Any ideas what is going on with our bodies?

Even in the old days long before SBD, the thought of, or the sight of IHOP food slathered in syrupy canned fruit, fruity syrups, whipped cream, etc, made me sick.

Actually - they have some great SBD-friendly options. We go there for breakfast a lot - I always get the chicken fajita omlete (made with Eggbeaters, minus the sour cream). They will even substitute fresh fruit for the sides of pancakes of hashbrowns!

MichaelAnn, when you order your omelettes from the restaurants, do they come with cheese or do you have them leave that out?

It depends on my overall day. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Being on phase 3, I don't concern myself with a sprinkle of regular cheese once a month or so. I eat very little cheese overall. If I know that I will be having something light later, I don't worry. I just know that the amount they usually use on this one is a very light sprinkle (at least at the 4 locations I have ordered it at), the chicken, peppers, onion and salsa are the "bulk" of the omelette.

But it is certainly easy enough to have them leave it off! You can "build your own" and pick from all sorts of veggies - mushrooms, tomato, spinach, onions, peppers, canadian bacon/ham, etc. Dh always does this and never gets cheese.

One thing I really used to have a problem with is sugar in the morning -- for quite a few years now, I haven't been able to have pancakes or french toast with syrup on them.
