How *CHEAP* Are You?

We all do things to save a couple of pennies.....
With the rising cost of groceries, gas, and everything else I thought it would be fun (and even funny) if we all shared one or two things we do that's on the *CHEAP* side!
Here's mine:
~ I try to reuse ziploc bags
~ I drive past several gas stations while on EMPTY to go to one that's 3 cents less

Karen, I am also guilty of re-using ziploc bags! Reminds me of when my mom used to take bread bags, rinse them out and hang them inside-out to dry so she could re-use them... ;o)
I also freeze almost *any* leftover fruit/veggie if it's looking like we won't eat it before it goes bad. Asparagus, chopped peppers & onions, bananas, berries, etc... I use the veggies in omelets, etc., and the fruit in smoothies, muffins, or pancakes.
When the soap is running low in the pump, I'll add a little water to stretch it a few more days...
I've just become more aware of prices, in general.
We don't turn on the heat until it gets *very* cold in the house --- and we keep the thermostat in the low 60s all winter.
I grow almost all the plants in my garden from seed rather than pay for plants.
I'm sure I
All of the above (except the thermostat thing).
We do the thermostat thing, but I just can't do 60 degrees. Deb, what do you wear at home, a snow suit???
Lately, I have been waiting to do errands until I have several to do. If I just need a few things from the store, DH stops on his way home from work. And, I've gotten better at stocking up when things are on sale. I really watch the paper for those 2-for-1 sales at Publix!!!

Hmmm... I think my family thinks I'm the queen of thrifty shopping. I don't buy clothes that aren't on sale unless it's absolutely necessary. That means for my kids I'm always shopping off season and buying a size too big so when that season rolls around it will fit. I love shopping clearance racks. It's almost an obsession to see how much I can save that way.
I love to do crafts and scrap book so I make most of our holiday cards rather than buy them.
I cook and shop in bulk. It's amazing how much money you save that way.
I love to find coupons online. There are a lot of sites you can get them at. I also do a lot of comparison shopping online. Many times you can get free shipping on things too!
I realized that our cell phone plan was ridiculously high in minutes when we only use a minimal amount. We cut down to a much smaller plan that made more sense and we're saving about $30 a month.
I've been doing the usual grocery things others are -- when on sale, stock up, buying store brands when I can (only if they are good, won't compromise to get something "icky").
I try to be the Frugal Goddess around here (sounds better than cheap).

We are planting our first garden this year in the hopes of not spending as much on produce. I have also started hitting up the Farmer's Market at 4:00 on a Saturday when everything has to go. The
Well, we don't actually keep the thermostat at 60 --- more like 63 - 64.
