being 40+ ?

I'm 44 now and have medically induced menopause and they aren't kidding how hard it is to lose weight later. For this amount of effort, I'm used to moving down the scale a little quicker than this. The first week I lost 5 pounds and in the following next three weeks I've lost half a pound. I'm not cheating, I've cut back on portions, I'm working out. I'm frustrated. I can't possibly be plateauing and I'm only bordering the high end of my BMI so it's not like I'm slowing down the weight loss because I'm nearing my goal. Any ideas?

Hey, Maggie. I guess I wasn't clear. I lost half a pound, total over three weeks, not 1.5 pounds in three weeks. It's got to be the portions.

Do you count calories at all?

I picked my (nutritionist) neighbor's brain a bit about this issue and she recommends that I try cutting back to one dairy (with supplements) and one fruit and up the daily veg. I'll let you know if that does anything. I'll take a look at other people's journals, too. Thanks, Maggie!
