What happened to Kashi GoLean Waffles?

On the Daily Plate forum, I noticed someone asking what whole grain waffles they use, because they noticed that Kashi GoLean waffles aren't 100% whole wheat / whole grain. I distinctly remember Kashi GoLean waffles being approved by SBD. There are Kashi GoLean waffles in my freezer right now. I had to go look for myself:
http://www.kashi.com/products/golean_waffles_original Sure enough, they're no good - all three varieties!
Ingredients: Water, unbleached/unenriched wheat flour, whole wheat flour, soy protein isolate, evaporated cane juice, red wheat bran, oat fiber, expeller pressed canola oil, chicory root fiber, Kashi Seven Whole Grains and Sesame® Flour (Stone ground whole: oats, hard red winter wheat, long grain brown rice, rye, triticale, barley, buckwheat, sesame seeds), baking powder (baking soda, sodium acid pyrophosphate, monocalcium phosphate), natural vanilla flavor, soy lecithin, egg white powder, whey powder.
When did this happen? I'm so disappointed!

Hmmmm.
The SF Chronicle reviewed "wholegrain" frozen waffles this week.
Very interesting Jamie, thanks for sharing that!
The Nature's Path Waffles did pretty well in the Chronicle's tasting and I figure that they must be available around here if the local paper mentioned them.
Just wanted to give a quick waffle update. After this discussion, I bought the Lifestream Organic Flax Plus waffles that Maggie identified as actually being whole grain and good on fiber. They are quite tasty! They are cakier than the Kashi waffles (which are very crisy) and sometimes crumble a little bit if I smear cold nut butter on them. But I like the flavor, like that they are legitimately wholegrain and one serving per waffle and will definitely keep buying them over the Kashi waffles.
I really like the Kashi waffles, but not enough to compromise for them.
The Lifestream waffles are pretty easy to find in the higher-end stores in my area (Berkeley/Oakland, CA).
