My Garden

Hi all,

I have not been around as much as before because I have been so busy with many new (and old)  things.

But I wanted to give a Garden update:

It is going GREAT!! We have been eating from it for the past week. Huge heads of red leaf lettuce & romaine lettuce. DH made a yummy spinach dish last night with our organic spinich. Our zuccini's are big and tasty. And the cucumbers have super flavor. Oh and I have been eating the green onions, so big and super good! All of our tomatoe plants (I think we have 9) have a bunch of tomatoes (cherries & big ones) but they are all still green. Can't wait till they are ready.

We also have white onions, bell peppers(1 pepper growing so far) , green beans (getting big), squash, watermelon (just planted), chili peppers (just planted) and strawberries (we have eatten a few).

Anyone else have a great  Garden going?

I'm jealous too! I would love fresh grown veggies (though I wouldn't enjoy the gardening that goes along with it!)

I planted some herbs and a container of tomatoes on my deck. We have too many critters for a real garden without extensive fencing.

Wow Nicol, your garden sounds great!!!

We planted a small garden this year. Our first year to try more than just a few tomato plants. And it's looking great, although we haven't harvested anything yet. We've got lots of little tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, a baby squash, a few little bell peppers, cucumbers and some blueberries. Everything is going well the 2nd time around...we lost pretty much everything to a frost on the first planting.

We're looking forward to having some fresh vegetables...can't wait!!!

The last couple of years I grew Tomatoes, basil and cucumbers out of pots. I rented a house so I didn't wanna dig up the yard :) Now I have my own. My hubby built me a nice planter box. I've got 3 tomato plants, cucmber's, zucchini, bell pepper, strawberry's and basil in it.

Wow Nicol- your are really ahead of the game where you are!

It is too cold in PA yet, like Cathy we have to wait until after Memorial Day. But the garden soil is being prepped with tilling and fertilizer. By June I will have tomatoes, zucchini, peppers and herbs. :-)
