I need 3 teacher's gifts (3 different teachers). Do you have any great ideas? I haven't been very lavish with the teachers this year, so I'd like to end the year on a high note.
My mom was a teacher for 20 years and like Jessi said, she got so many little knickknacks and trinkets that got put in a closet or in a box that at one point she couldn't even keep them all. She felt horrible, she loved her students and their families - but there was just so much "stuff". So I always do gift cards - either to teacher supply stores (teachers spend an extraordinary amount of their own money on supplies and things for their classroom - here they have to provide their own clocks, bookshelves, tables other than desks, rugs, games, books, center activities, bulletin board materials, etc.) or to book stores. Another thing I have done is subscriptions to magazines like National Geographic Kids, Ranger Rick, etc. that they can use in their class room.
Another teacher speaking up to say that a nicely written thank you is wonderful. In high school I rarely get presents and that's OK. I love the personal notes. I don't need cookies, jelly bellies or donuts- in fact, I don't want junk food! A thoughtfully written note expressing gratitude for something I did is huge.

I used to teach school so I am getting my kids' teachers each a gift certificate to the local teacher store.
What seems to go over well for the teachers in our schools are Dunkin Donuts Gift Cards, bags of coffee, insulated mugs, etc from Dunkin's
The teachers never seem to be without some sort of a Dunkin beverage during the day!
Personally, I don't participate in every fundraiser that comes along.
