SBD vs. WW

Hello-

Once again I am looking for the magic pill only to find out what I already know--there is none! LOL

I know weight watchers like the back of my hand, but am trying to decide to follow it or SBD.  I am looking for a little imput from people who have followed both.  Do you think that SBD is really easier and healthier than WW?  Have you noticed quicker or longer lasting results?  Do you think it's easy to maintain once you get down to your desired weight?  It seems that I hear more doctors recommending SBD than WW and am wondering about feedback from people who are actually "on the beach,."  TIA so much for your advice!

Well here is my two cents worth too...

I feel that South Beach works best for me because I am a sugar/carb junkie!!! If I were to be given the rule of eat whatever you desire just do it within your points, I would eat more pastas, breads, sugar laden items than I would anything else.

I like SBD because it forces me to recognize my carb addiction. I honestly don't see this as a diet as much as a way to change my life and food choices. While 'on SBD"

Hi!!

How funny this post is! I have been "following" but not really following ww for a few months now, and even though it has worked for me in the past, it's not this time around! I think it's because I don't really believe in the plan anymore - I have the south beach diet book, as well as the Abs diet book (which is very similar to phase 2 of SBD) and I am contemplating switching!

Hi -

funny that you should phrase it "detox from ww" that's exactly what I feel like I need to do - it's like this point counting is so ingrained in my head, but i want to be done with it once and for all and just eat healthy and follow something I can stick with!!

let's all try to work on this together and help each other!!

I have been kinda shocked about the response to this - only because I was struggling with WW, had just switched to SB, and then saw this original post. I didn't realize there are so many who have tried both and felt the same way I do - the cravings are eaiser to manage here! I don't always like that, in the past i have thought that was a good excuse to diet hop because i could eat food x,y,and z on this other plan. ya know - the grass is always greener kindof thing. But right now i don't have any cravings, and I am starting day 4 today. That is 3 more days that i have stuck to this then eaten within in my points range without 10+ flex points. So i guess this is the place for me!
