I felt a bit overwhelmed today at the grocery store. I started phase 2 today and was very excited about having 1 grain and 1 fruit today. I wanted to buy bread, bagel or english muffin and after searching the whole entire section I felt like there wasn't one "legal." I would love for someone to share with me what brand you use.
Also I think I read somewhere that lite cool whip is "legal." If I use this on top of sf/ff jello will it be considered dessert/snack?
One more question: Where can I find sf barbecue sauce?
Thanks

Grocery shopping and reading labels is a learning experience; you'll get the hang of it soon!
I rarely buy regular bread, I tend to prefer using whole wheat wraps, flatbread and pita. Plus I find it easier to find legal ones. I like FlatOut flatbread, Kangaroo pita and the SBD/Santa Fe Tortilla wraps.
For english muffins I use Thomas, if you look at the package they aren't QUITE up to the fiber guidelines, but they have always been approved anyways. Pepperidge Farm mini-bagels are what we use around here - they are really good.
For BBQ sauce we use KC Masterpiece "Low Calorie Classic Blend", its sweetened with Splenda.

The ONLY BBQ sauce I've been able to find that fits into the guidelines has been the one that MichaelAnn mentioned (KC Masterpiece "Low Calorie Classic Blend"). If you are a big BBQ sauce user, then I recommend stocking up when you find a legal one - I've heard people say that they suddenly disappear from the stores. I suspect that you will have an easier time in the summer than in the winter in finding a legal sauce, but I could be wrong.
As for the bread issue - I never tried looking for bread. Bread is one of those things that I just can't control myself with. I do eat the Thomas' Mini Whole Wheat bagels and Thomas' Whole Wheat English muffins. As was mentioned before, they are all a little low on the fiber but were approved by the SB nutritionists.
If you are looking to have sandwiches, I find that pitas and tortillas work...but tomorrow I'm going to try using the Thomas' Mini Square Bagel Bread and see how I like it. This is the first time I've bought them - they look like they are going to be a good size for sandwiches, even if they are a little low on fiber (57 grams with 4 grams of fiber - about the same as the English muffins).
