Hello All! Been awhile since I last posted but I lurke whenever I get the chance! Nice to "see" so many of you still staying healthy!
My question is actually for a friend who recently went thru surgical menopause at a young age. She lost a lot (about 80 lbs) on SBD several years ago (pre-surgery) but has crept up the weight since her menopausal sugery about 1 year ago. Recently she asked me about this since I've gone thru surgical menopause awhile back but I really don't know how to help her. I don't count calories and never have. For me, the weight has not been an issue.
Her "problem" is that she gains weight very quickly now and she complains her body holds it now in the tummy region. And, she has gone back to a strict P2 but the weight just doesn't come off like it once did. She shared with me that she's put back about 20ish lbs of the weight she previously lost.
For those of you with similiar surgical menopause experience, do you have any advice, words of wisdom, or can you offer her any thoughts on calorie counting (ie: how many calories/day). She walks for exercise about 3X a week.
I'm off of work for the summer so I hope to be back on the boards more over the summer months. I look forward to chatting with everyone again.

Hi Doreen,
It's always good to see you here.
We've had a lot of discussion about menopause and weight loss.

Are you sure I'm not your friend?
Wow Maggie, maybe you are my friend - the one that I am talking about! She was just telling me that she was so desperate that she was going to try the same type of very low calorie diet (VLCD) but hers was through the

Hi Doreen,
My program isn't one of those that must be continually medically supervised and there aren't special tests, but the old-school Medifast program is like that.
