SBD and the Combination Diet?

How does SBD compare with the combination diet? The combination diet is one in which you separate the carbs from the proteins - so that if you have pasta it is only with veggies, and if you have meat it is only with veggies. Never the two together.  I've never tried this before but it sounds a little like SBD.

MichaelAnn,

I've seen the agave nectar at my corner Kroger store.

I found agave nectare at "My Walmart" on the shelf by the Splenda.

Yep - checked Kroger, our's has a huge organic/natural/health food section will all sorts of stuff (its like 5 half aisles and one freezer, but I could spend like an hour there LOL!) I also checked the baking aisle, by the syrups/honey and in the diet section. Of course NO ONE there had heard of it and thought I was asking about tequila LOL! So they may very well have it, I just couldn't find it! I also tried HEB (its a more local Texas chain) but they usually have tons of that type of stuff too - its my "go to" place for SBD friendly stuff - couldn't find it there either!

When I said my corner Kroger, I wasn't kidding about it being at the corner.

I have to say that I tried this Pre-SB and not so good. There was just something about it being...off I guess is the word I'm looking for. I didn't really think of it as sweet, but I can't remember for sure since it was so long ago.

Are you talking about the honey latte having an off taste or the agave nectar?

I bought some agave nectar and I'm really enjoying it. There is a light version and an amber. I have been eating the light version on my greek yogurt which is delicious. I've tried a little in my tea but haven't decided if I like it in there or not. My husband has been using it in when making bread in the bread machine and it's working well there. It's definitely worth trying.

I use it on pancakes when I don't want just fruit, since I cannot find sugar free maple syrup.

I know margaritas are probably not a great sweet treat on phase 2 :) but I add agave nectar instead of simple syrup to margaritas, I figure it comes from the same plant as tequila!

I took the walk yesterday and never posted my findings!! SORRY!

What I thought was agave nectar wasn't, which sent me on a mission to find what I said Kroger's had.

I did find it!

It's a different brand, but I found Organic Blue Agave, by Wholesome Sweeteners, in the Nature's Market section.
