Hey ya'll!

I have been on SBD now for about two months or so. I am having problems with nighttime leg cramps. Also since beng SBD I have not had a normal monthly cycle. It ssems my body is so out of whack. I am not sure if my body is lacking something, if my continuous bleeding, or if my change in eating is causing all the problems.

So my question to you SBD'ers is....have you experienced leg cramps? Have you experienced changes in your monthly cycle?

I go back to the doctor on Monday. So  I am getting myself checked out however I am curious of your answers.

I don't know about your cycle, but the leg cramps could be from not getting enough calcium.

Are you getting your dairy each day?

Hey...thanks for your responce.

I failed to mention earlier that I am taking the birth control YAZ. This particular bc has potassium in it. It actually has a warning about it.

So I am really not sure if potassium is the problem, however your thought line was the same as mine.

Bananas ARE SBD-friendly! They are allowed beginning in phase 2, one banana counts as one fruit serving!

Are you drinking enough water? Hydration level can be related to muscle cramps as well.

I never had issues with my menstrual cycle - in fact, my cycle was wacky BEFORE South Beach, I was no various meds/hormones to try and regulate it, but they never worked or had side effects I couldn't live with. When I went on South Beach, lost weight, started exercising and actually taking care of my body propery, my cycles regulated themselves and are totally normal for the first time in whole life. I had spotting for 3 weeks out of every month, that is often related to a lack of progesterone.

Hi - I have leg cramps quite a bit, and I usually can pin it to not getting enough water the previous day or before my workouts.

Funny you asked this actually. I'm on YAZ bcp too and am also experiencing a lot of night time leg cramps. This occurs on days that I have worked out and days that I have not. I've been very conscious of my water and always have my full servings of dairy. Hmmm. Now I'm wondering what else it could be....
