Question and Reflection

Good Evening,

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I didn't go to the gym today but did mow lawn (with a rider), for about an hour and then later this afternoon stacked wood that my husband was splitting after we lost two huge trees in a storm a couple weeks ago. I have a question about water retention and a reflection of how my first week is going on SB. This is my first time doing it.

What do you do about water retention?  Its really hot and humid in Virginia right now. I have been drinking tons of water but my hands are still really swollen and the scale went up 2.8 pounds this morning.  I know thats water weight, not weight I gained from eating badly because I am following the guidelines to a T.  I worked out at the gym for 2 hours yesterday and figure that is part of the reason for the water weight gain, so I am not too concerned about the scale.  But before SB I would have eaten watermelon to help my body release that water but am not allowed to have that.

Thoughts?

I must say even though this first week has been VERY restrictive, I am enjoying being back on track. I feel better and am excited about getting through the next week so I can go on to Phase 2.  It really hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be.  I think I did great today considering it was the first weekend on SB.  I was a bit worried but it was fine. My body is thanking me for getting rid of all the junk I have been eating. I can feel the difference already.  I think I am going to really enjoy this new way of eating. I look forward to it becoming a permanent change in my life.

Just wanted to ask a question and share my thoughts tonight.

Hi Erin,

I live in a very hot, humid climate, too (south coastal Georgia), and I've always been prone to water retention.

I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with salt, too.
