after reading " skinny bitch" I can't go near animals for food. the cruelty the animals endure is heart breaking to me.

Yet, even tho I like my changes, it is not easy to drop a few lbs. it is still a matter of how much you eat. Fill me in if there is a SB vegetarian link. I think I saw it a long time ago. Thanks.

also, did anyone read that book? very powerful and informative. leila

I read Skinny Bitch and loved it! I was already a vegetarian, but it's what made me go vegan. I haven't looked through these links too much, so I'm not sure how helpful they are. But let me know if you need help with cookbooks or meal ideas. It's always exciting to have another veggie on the board!

I cried thru the chapter in "Skinny bitch" how they kill and manage the animals. Since I believe we are all one , I am so sensitive to animals. The book was so powerful to me. When I am near the meat/poultry section in the super market, my eyes fill up with tears. So, I have changed my eating but not my habits, and I am more consistent in eating too much at night, making it more of a problem to get back to how I should eat or limit. I am up a few more lbs, altho still in normal limits, considered thin by my peers, that pisses me off!!!!!!!!!!!! cause they are no support (:- ) I cannot afford to put on an ounce. I bought some soy ice cream sandwiches for my grandkids. They never ate them, I did in 3 days. I cannot have anything around! I should know after all these years, if it is there, I will eat it. I am glad I am the health food freak at work, cause if I were not, I would be one of the obese Americans due to my compulsivity with food. I am about 133 or 134, would settle to stay at 128 or 129. As you all know that is as hard for me as it would be for you to lose 50 lbs. I need to change my thoughts as we create with our thoughts and say, it will be easy, smooth and fun. And so it is.

to fill in: today is my B'day. Will shape up tomorrow as my work peers and I are doing our yearly lobster feast in Kittery, Maine. A place where you bring the sides and they cook the lobsters and clams by the ocean. If it rains, they have plastic coverings. If any of you live near chauncey creek, join us. I hope I don't cry over my poor "boiled" lobster. (:- ) Maybe I can do it once a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am making my B'day cake, they don't know it is my B'day, and i am bringing champagne and a cabbage salad.

I am off every week-end now and also Wednesdays. So happy at work. Life is good. I continue to work out, tread mill and machines.

Thank you for the veggie thread, recipes look so good.

I will add a grated Zucchini/carrot casserole when I get a chance. People at work liked it. Leila
