Choosing between hot dogs and hamburgers

We're going away this weekend with some other families, and I have no input into the meal plans.  We do this trip each year, and end up grilling a lot of hot dogs and hamburgers.  I'm curious as to which the "better" choice would be?  Assume a beef hot dog, and a cheaper cut of meat for the burgers.

I'm thinking the burger would still be a better choice, because the hot dog is so processed.  I never eat the buns; I just make a salad out of the burger toppings and have that instead.

I'd also choose the burger.

Personally, I'd go for the burger because I prefer them to begin with.

I'd go with the burger thinking that at least the fat drains into the grill when it is cooking.

Agree with everyone, I believe the burger is the much better choice, leave off the bun unless is is WW (probably not likely) and you can stack it up with tomatoes, lettuce, pickles -- yum!

I've been debating this at every picnic I've been to this summer.

I'd still choose the hamburger any day. Even if it is not the best cut of meat, once bbq'ed, at least some of the fat drains off. Some of my peeps are on WW, so they even have WW buns, or this new thing. They are "buns", just not nearly as thick. And WW. Don't know if they are legal, have to look into it once my grocery store opens again.
