OT -- Prayers Needed

Got an email from my BFF that her DD was in a horrific accident Wednesday morning.  There was a fatality.

DD of BFF is in extremely critical condition with a grade 5 liver laceration (the worst grade), among other injuries.

Please send prayers that the liver will stop bleeding so that other injuries and complications can be addressed.  Until the liver is stable, they can't give blood thinners for blood clots that are forming.

Sorry this if this is TMI, but we need really targeted prayers right now.  I haven't been asked to come out to where she is, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to go anyway.  Isn't that what BFF's do??!!

TIA!!

Nancy

Oh my goodness! Add my prayers to the list...

How old is the DD, if I may ask?

Thanks, Joy, and no it's not a problem to ask her age. Melissa WILL be 20 next month.

According to the article in the MSU newspaper that I think is about this accident, police don't believe alcohol was involved. It's obviously not something I'm about to bring up with mom.

As it's a miracle she's still alive at this point, we know God's hand is on and in the situation. We're praying for the miracles to continue.

I'm heading out there in a bit -- need to get DS2 home from work, DD off to a friend's for the evening; just printed all the maps I could possibly need.

DH is wonderful -- he's got no problem with me going out to her. He's at a family wedding tonight (I had decided not to go before I knew of any of this) with his mom, and we decided that if I went tonight I should go before too late. I covered all bases regarding DD and even had tomorrow fairly set in case it was needed from his end. I told him it's easier to cover the bases up front and undo coverage than to scramble at the last minute.

As is obvious from the rambling I'm a mess; I can't even imagine what Debbie's going through. I need to find a gentle (but firm) way to tell her to stop being so strong and to just let go for a bit. She always has to be in control, and I want her to turn it over for a short time, if that makes sense.

Thanks to all for your prayers.

Nancy

Oh Nancy. I'm so sorry. Melissa is in my prayers. As is Debbie and all of you as you help minister to the family. Please do keep us updated on her condition.
