Hi, everyone. I can't remember if I've ever posted on this board or not, but I'll admit to lurking here a few times, and have found a lot of good information/suggestions here.
I've been on the South Beach diet several times during the past 3 years, and have found that it is a fairly easy diet for me to follow, and most importantly, it works! Trouble is, I eventually fall off the wagon, eat too many carbs, and gain the pounds back! I'm not hugely overweight, only 15-20 pounds, but would really like to get it off! I have a closet full of pretty clothes that I can't wear right now. As I said, these extra pounds have slowly crept back on this old body over the last year or so, and now is the time to get them off, hopefully once and for all!
I am now in day 4 of phase one, and so far, no slip ups, no cheats. I didn't even want to come to this board and introduce myself until I got through the first 3 days, which I know from past experience, are the hardest for me. I "seem" to be on a good track now, sugar cravings and bread cravings (my main weakness!) have subsided. When I need a chocolate fix I reach for the sugar-free fudgecicles instead of chocolate ice cream and when I have a salt craving, I have a few almonds instead of tortilla chips and cheese dip. So far, I'm moving in the right direction...;-).
I look forward to getting to know all of you. I've been posting at iVillage since 1999, so I'm not new to the boards, just new to THIS board.
