Yogurt Cold Prevention

What you snack on today could just help you ward off a cold this fall and winter. That is, if you're chowing down on yogurt. A study published in USA Today found that subjects who consumed a 3/4-cup serving of yogurt per day suffered 25 percent fewer colds than their non-yogurt-eating counterparts. We like those odds! And we like yogurt! Fair warning: It takes time for the immune-boosting effects of yogurt to build up in your system (three months or so, according to the study), so add some yogurt to your diet now to avoid the sniffles come cold season. Remember: Look for live active cultures and steer clear of varieties with added sugar.
