Question about milled flax seed

Hi ladies.  I havent posted here in awhile, but I have a question about milled flax seed.  I've seen/heard that it can be used in place of oil, but I'm not really sure about the ratio.  I think it says 1T fat in the recipe = 3T milled flax seed.  Is that right?  So what if the recipe calls for 1/2 C oil?  Do I use 1 1/2 C milled flax seed?  I'm not really sure if its a straight up 1:3 ratio or what.
TIA!

I use the 3:1 ratio all the time, and it works for me. In alot of recipes I will only sub out half the oil--so if the recipe calls for a half cup of oil, I'll use 1/4 C of oil and 3/4 C ground flaxseed meal. Most recipes need a *little* bit of oil, or they'll be too dry.

BTW, your girls are gorgeous!!
