Back in school, back on my diet

Like a bad penny, I'm back posting. The last few weeks have been insane, trying to balance out school, working out, eating, kids, yada yada yada.
School does not have a microwave, nor a fridge, nor are you allowed to eat outside the lounge (feels almost like high school again). So the biggest challenge is how do I find food that fits into my WOE? I used to bring in tuna salad for example to work, leave it in the fridge, add the mayo right before eating. It's a good thing that I'm on P2, so I can bring sandwiches. But I miss my heat-up pre made bought meals. Really are not allowed water even. But I still somehow (except for one class) seem to bring in coffee in the am. What a rebel.
The gym thing had been a bust. The gym I joined is STILL not open. So on Sept 15, I started calling around to see what hoops I would have to jump through in order to go back to my old gym. Turns out not many. So, I still meet with my McDreamy on the required days, but I go to classes at the old gym. Scheduled 7 days a week, one at 6:15am, one at 6:30pm M-F, and classes on sat-sun at 9. Does not mean I go to all of them, if I am too tired and my body says time for a break, I'll skip. But so far, so good. It took 3 classes of step to get back into it. I can't just go to the gym and do cardio. I really like the classes, and I would prefer those any day. They have a new one, it's latin, called Zumba (I think that's what it's called). Didn't get it 100%, but I'll try again. The gym is now saying it will open Dec 12. I'm not holding my breath, I guess we'll see. McDreamy told me that date, I laughed at him.
Blogging for me had been awesome, but became a bust this month. I'll start again on Oct 1. I think I need the accountability of that for me. It's not about making sure that I show off what I'm eating, it's about the accountability of people getting to see what I'm doing, and me staying on track. AND it's about me fitting into my party dress for the posh Christmas party for the hospital.
If you read all of this, NF, NF, Xhot, SF Van Grange latte for you. Which actually sounds really good. I should go and get one...

Welcome back!!
There is a step class right before it, so if I can make it to step, I'll hang around for Zumba too. If not, then just Zumba. Depends on Mike's schedule, what time he gets home, yada yada. Most night classes I've scheduled are at 6:30 or 7:30, so it does not impact him at all. I did it last night. I didn't understand a word the teacher said, but it was definitely the most fun I've had in a while. I figure once I understand what she wants, and I figure out how to make my hips move (without the vodka that I used to use as an undergrad) it'll be a good time. There is also another class I'm doing, BodyJam, which is similar, more hiphop than latin. We'll see if my body can move like that still.

I second the insulated lunch bag w/reusable ice packs. Then you can bring almost anything. My dh brought his lunch to work for 2 years with no fridge and no microwave (he drives all day from job site to job site and usually has to eat in car). He just put an ice pack in there and then he could pack anything - sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, cheese, etc. I also did it fall semester of last year, I went to school from 8:30-3:00pm, so I packed a lunch, I didn't have a fridge or microwave either, but it wasn't a problem with ice packs. This semester I only have to take snacks because I go 10:00-1:30, so I eat a big morning snack and then a late lunch.
I'm surprised about the food at school. I've never had a teacher that allows NO food in class. The only exception at my school is the bio/chem labs because of the chemicals and such, so no eating allowed in there. But all the lecture classes allow drinks, snacks - a lot of kids will even bring in full fledged meals! I HAVE to have my diet coke during class!
