Let the SBD Holiday Challenge Begin!!
32
Wed, 10-01-2008 - 6:21am

Today is the first day of our SBD Holiday Challenge.  Wednesday will be our check-in day each week.  This challenge will carry us through December 31st (which, ironically, is on a Wednesday).  Anyone can join the challenge at any time.

Here's a thought to get you started...

"You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it." -Margaret Thatcher

Post your introduction to this thread...your name, how long you've been following SBD, and your three-month goal.  Then post your goal for this week.  Perhaps it will be to exercise a certain number of days; try meal planning for the week; to try a new food; or whatever you think will help you jump-start this challenge.

Good luck!

I'm in!!!

DH and I have been on SB for almost 2 years. We've both lost a lot of weight in that time. And now we need to get that last 20 to 25 pounds off!!!

I'm going to say 5 pounds for this challenge. My weight was 185.8 this morning. So that will put me right around 180. The scale has not really moved for me since before vacation in July. I've become a bit complacent about snacks and getting all of my vegetables in everyday. And exercise is harder to get in since I went back to work part-time. So, time to stop using that as an excuse and just get it done!!!

Upcoming challenges will be my DD's 13th birthday celebration this weekend. As well as my great nephew's 1st birthday party. There will be cake, ice cream and pre-teens in the house this weekend. I'm going to try to keep the indulgences to a minimum. And on Christmas Day, we will leave for Miami for my birthday cruise. So I guess I'll wind up my challenge on a cruise ship this time!!!

Good luck to everyone in the challenge!!! May we all reach and even exceed our goals!!!

I've been following SBD for almost 3 years (?!) now...started Feb '06. My starting weight was 164, and my lowest, in August '06 was 124 (too low for me)...so 40 lbs lost! Since then I've gone back up to almost 140, and back down to my current weight of about 133. I'd like to get back to 129 and stay there. So that's my main goal for the challenge--to hit 129 and hold it through the holidays!

I've worked out pretty consistently (with a few slack-off times here and there), but just started back at the gym in September, so I'm getting back into weight training, which I love. I go 4 days/week and do cardio, weights, & yoga, and also run with

Let's see..... I attempted SB for awhile early this year but it didn't stick. I did lose a couple of pounds but nothing to brag about. I have been holding around 185 for the last year and half, UGH! I lose a few, gain a few, lose a few and then still end up at 185. It is CRAZY, apparently 185 is my comfort zone for some reason that I do not know. I started a Biggest Loser Competition with a few friends today and it will run through the end of January so I will be using this SBD Holiday Challenge to help keep me on track there as well. I am jumping back on full phase 2. My goals for the BL competition is to get under 170 (169.8 ;-)). So I am making my SBD Holiday goal 10 pounds (174.4) and that should put me right on track.

This weeks goals:
workout at least 5 days this week, preferably 6
Allow myself 2 cheat meals
Allow myself 1 Regular Pepsi
Get in at least 64 oz of water EVERYDAY!

I've been on the Beach since August 2007. I then got pregnant and delivered my DD this past June. At my 6wk post-partum doctor's visit I'd lost all my pregnancy weight, so now I'm back to losing more. I'm currently nursing, so only loosely following P2. If any of you are reading my journal, don't follow my example. LOL

I'm currently 160.8, my goal is 150 by the end of the year.
