Jillian was admitted to the hospital on Saturday morning. She came home from college on Friday evening because she hasn't been feeling well and wanted to rest this weekend at home. When she woke up on Saturday morning she had a fever and looked very pale and run down. Jillian has a history of severe bleeding associated with ulcerative colitis. After a quick trip to the pediatrician she sent us over to the hospital for blood work and other tests. We've been here since.
They think there is something else going on besides the UC. Her fever keeps spiking very high 103 to 104 and they're searching for an underlying infection. At this point she hasn't really eaten since Monday or Tuesday and everything she does eat immediately comes out the other end so she isn't getting any nutritional benefit. In order to get her protein/albumin, potassium levels back up to safe levels they're going to need to put her on a feed tube tonight.
Prayers would be appreciated.

Not sure if you are working on a laptop from the hospital or a blackberry, but if it's a laptop, how about some on-line christmas shopping, watching movies?
Personally there is nothing more tiring than sitting around to hurry up and wait for things.

That's a great idea Sheila!
Cathy - I know you are not much of a tv watcher, but you can check out some shows like Mad Men or Lipstick Jungle (or most anything else) at www.hulu.com.
Hope all is well today!
If you were in the market for one, you could get one of those stationary bike things like Destiny's husband ordered that was in the DYK's.
They should put a RedBox machine in hospitals.

Or you can start on your Christmas/Holiday cards, update your lists, address the envelopes (if you have your cards now - I do!!)
Plan your Thanksgiving Menu...
I've been wondering how Jillian has been doing these past few days that we haven't heard anything. Many prayers are going up!
