Now that everyone has adapted a healthier lifestyle, I'm curious as to how you handle Halloween treats that you give out. Do you give healthy treats, candy, or something else?
This is only our second year in this house, and last year we went out to a different neighborhood where there are sidewalks, so I don't really know if anybody comes here or not.
I've always just gotten candy in the past, but I like the idea of tattoos.
I order a bunch of stuff from Oriental Trading Co. - stickers, bouncy balls, coloring books, stamps, tattoos, rings/bracelets, glow sticks. We get a lot of trick or treaters usually, our house is kind of notorious for our big yard display we do (graveyard, lights, sound effects, fog machines, all kinds of stuff - dh used to work at an amusement park designing/running their annual haunted house so he goes all out) I'm expecting even higher numbers this year since its a Friday so I really stocked up. Its great though because if there are leftovers I just box them up - its not food, so it doesn't go bad!
My kids also don't get to keep their candy - they keep 10 pieces (they can have 1 per day for 10 days) Then they leave the rest of it outside their bedroom door for the "Halloween Fairy" - she takes their candy and exchanges it for a toy. The "fairy" then promptly dumps it where it belongs - in the garbage!

You can get 72 tattoos at Oriental Trading for $3.79; they aren't packaged in little boxes, but those are great for goody bags or tattoo stations.
We don't give out any candy at all.

Both times I bought the boxed tattoos, they were in CVS (a drugstore), on the same aisle as the Halloween candy.
I've seen tattoos in with the party supplies at Wal-mart, Nancy. Good luck finding some!!!
