SBD Holiday Challenge Check In
| Wed, 10-29-2008 - 6:28am |
It's Wednesday, and time to report in on your progress this past week for the SBD Holiday Challenge. How did you do with the goal you set for yourself? If you need a reminder of your goal, here's a link to last week's thread.

What will your goal be this week? Maybe it's as simple as making it through Halloween without gaining any weight; or maybe it's time to start a new exercise routine. We'll check in next Wednesday to see how you met that goal.

Last week I had 3 days straight of non-SB eating for lunch, I've been pigging out on candy, not exercising, and barely getting my vegetables in most days.
And yet, I've lost .2 of a pound. Go figure.
This week, I'm going to get back on the clean eating wagon. I saw a new low this weekend and I'd like to get back there by next Wednesday. It's "only" a pound lower than what I weighed in with this morning so it's doable.
-Boston Run to Remember Half Marathon, 5/29/11 (2:35:11, no training!)
-Corporate Run, 3.5 miles 6/2/11 (36:38, 4 days after running the half!)
-BAA 10k, 6/26/11 (1:04:52, wanted to be under an hour...)
-Tavern to Tavern
My goal was to see some kind of downward movement on the scale this week.
My goals were to do meal planning, lose 1-2 lbs and walk 3 times last week. I did the meal planning and I lost 0.8 lbs (not 1-2 lbs but still a loss) and I walked 2 times last week. So I almost met all my goals.
My goals for this week are to not eat any of the candy that is in the house and count my points and eat only SB food and walk 3 times this week.
My overall challenge goal is to lose 20 lbs and I am 3.6 lbs into that 20. Slow but steady wins the race!!!
Well I totally didn't meet my goals for the week.
Both my water consumption and excersice are less than last week.
Alright...I'm with Destiny.
I'm just plodding along!!!
Eating was pretty good except for the chinese restaurant meal on the weekend. But that was a planned meal. I did, however, skip the cake at MIL's get together on Sunday afternoon. I stuck to fresh legal fruit, a diet soda and a few sips of coffee with splenda.
Looks like I will get 3 or 4 days of exercise in this week. I skipped yesterday. DH wasn't feeling well, so we drove into the office together and he came home early with me. I find it really hard to get my exercise in when he's around.
Friday (Halloween), will be a big challenge. The candy will come out of hiding and we're participating in a neighborhood block party that evening. I'm fixing a cute skeleton with brain dip. http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/recipes/skeleton-brain-dip-65180.aspx?pf=true
I'm hoping it comes out as well as the picture!!!
I'll also be taking some chips and dip and some cookies. I doubt that will be a problem for me. And I'm hoping that whoever brings the soups/chili makes them somewhat diet friendly.
I think I'm going to allow myself a few miniature candy bars and that will be it. I have found that a bite or two satisfies my sweet tooth and keeps me from feeling deprived.

I didn't make any goals for the week but I have been doing very well on my daily goals lately.

Well, I was thinking I would set aside a couple of the miniature packs of candy from the Halloween stash and then make sure that the rest of it is given away to the neighborhood kids. That way, I don't really have the temptation after what I allotted myself is gone.
For some reason, I have no problem staying out of the candy that belongs to DD? I just tell myself that it's not mine to have and that I really don't want that guilty feeling I would have if I did eat some of it? Guilty because I shouldn't have eaten it and guilty because it was DD's? Does that make sense?
