I found this recipe in cooking light for Molasses-Spice cookies that I am making for my family.  I would like to make a version that is SB friendly as I love gingersnaps/spice cookies.

Here is the recipe as it was printed.  I know I can substitute the flour for whole wheat pastry and the magarine for smart balance and the sugar for splenda.  My ? is how do I substitute the molasses, as it is loaded with sugar? 1 tbls is 15 grams.

1 1/3 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon and ground ginger

1/4 tsp ground cloves and salt

1/2 cup firmly packed brn sugar

1/4 cup stick margarine

2 tbls molasses

1 large egg white

1/4 cup sugar

I thought about adding a little sugar free maple syurp to my splenda to make brown sugar, but not sure if there is a substitue for molasses out there. Thanks for your help.

I would substitute sugar-free maple syrup.

Splenda makes a brown sugar baking blend too, for the brown sugar.

The Splenda brown sugar blend isn't legal, as it contains white sugar.

I did at one point use the splenda brown sugar until someone on the board informed me that it wasn't legal, so I haven't used it since.
