Totally OT -- can we talk Wii games?

We bought a Wii several months ago that I've put away for Christmas. Target is running a "Buy 2, get 1 Free" on Wii games this week and I thought I'd pick up a couple for the kids.
At Christmas they'll be dd-9, ds-7.5, ds-5.
Any suggestions on what to buy will be greatly appreciated!

Hey Jennifer, we just got a Wii for DD's 13th birthday. Of all the games she got, she loves the Rayman game the best. There are 2 of them, I think. DD has fun shooting plungers at the alien rabbits, or rabbids as they are called in the game.
We've had just as much fun with the sports games that come with the Wii. Bowling and baseball are favorites around here.

We also have a Wii and my kids really want (and are getting) Mario Party 8. It's great because many people can play at once!

My oldest is 11, but we have friends with this game, and their daughter is 5, and it's great for both of those ages and everything in between.
We also have the Wii Fit, which is way fun for all of us! it's very worth the money!
We also got my 11yo Dance Dance Revolution 2, because she is a dancer! I can't vouch for how great (or not) that is, because she won't get it till Christmas, but the guy at Target said they sell lots of them!
I have also heard great things about Rayman, but we dont' have that one.
Good luck on game searching!
My kids (ds - 11 and dd - 8) also like Mario Party. They also really like Super Smash Bros. brawl because they can play together. Mario Kart, Super Mario Galaxy (they can also play this together, one person is Mario, the other is the "Star", a great job for a younger one just learning how to play to play with an older brother/sister), Spryo, Guitar Hero, Lego Star Wars. They want Rock Band for Christmas.
But what I highly recommend is Game Fly. Its like Netflix but for video games. It has a monthly fee (I think its $12 for one game out, $24 for two games) The kids can try the games, play them as long as they like, if they get bored with it, you send it back and get the next one. If they like it, there is a "Keep it" option and you pay a used price so its cheaper. Its saved us from buying games they didn't end up liking, and it reduces the number of games that sit and collect dust after they get bored with them. Ds pays for his subscription himself with chores/allowance, he loves being able to get a "new" game whenever he wants.

We bought Wii last year and it was a hit! Amanda and her friends play it all the time. The basic bundle comes with Wii Sports which is a variety of games (bowling, tennis, softball and golf). We also have Guitar Hero and Rock Band (which I play with Amanda all the time!). I just pre-ordered Rock Band 2 (game only) for Christmas.
A couple of tips:
1) when buying Wii look very carefully at how it's bundled. We saw the packages range in price from $200 to over $450 - depending on what it included.
2) buy early - the closer you get to the holidays, the harder it will be to find - at the right price.

That's why I bought it yesterday. Ours is just the basic bundle, with the Sports pack and one controller. DH is going to get another controller and possibly Mario Kart tomorrow night. Best Buy is having a special event for Reward Zone members after closing tomorrow night, and I think he's going to go. I told him if he wants to buy another Wii there (they will have a minimum of 30 per store), then I can take back the one I got at Target. That way he can get his double reward zone points on it. He also mentioned that he and DS would probably like Guitar Hero--but I think at 5 DS is too young, so I really think it's just that DH wants it for himself!
He was so funny--when I told him I had bought it, he got all excited and wanted to take it out last night to "test" it (I told him no)...he's such a kid!
