SBD has made me thankful for changing...

I thought since November is a time for giving thanks, we could all think about things SBD has made us thankful for.  Each Monday we'll have a new "thankful" thread with different ideas.

This week, think about an eating habit that you are thankful has changed since starting SBD, and post it here.

SBD has made me thankful for changing....well it has not changed much yet but it has already made me more aware of what things make me satisfied vs things that just taste good but are not good for me, so I am more aware of how my choices will affect my body in the few hours after I eat them.

After starting SBD, I had some brownies one weekend, and I felt so uncomfortable and had a terrible stomachache because in just a few short weeks my body adjusted to healthy food and didnt want all that junk, and I thought that was amazing!!!

SBD has made me thankful for changing . . . the need to constantly feel stuffed and miserable!

The best thing I have learned is portion control, and a lot of that comes from just eating the *right* foods...not empty calories that I never feel satisfied from.

I am still learning and trying to be 100%, but SBD has made me thankful for changing my food cravings. When I started SBD I really didn't think it would actually cure me of my sweets cravings. To actually say no to something because I really didn't want it, not just because I had willpower that day, is amazing!

I am thankful to SBD for changing my habit of "mindless eating"...I am MUCH more conscious of what I am consuming now than I ever was before. Even if I divert from the plan now and then, at least I pay attention and realize what I'm doing, and don't let it get out of control!

Hey Cathy,

I have about 25 more pounds to lose! The last bit has slowed down considerably, but I am still losing inches even when the scale stays the same. I started the SBD with my DH on January 29 of this year and he lost 50 pounds as well. We feel so much better, and the medical issues (the reason I started this in the first place) have all but gone back to normal! I have been so encouraged by this message board and when people ask me how we lost weight I say SBD and then direct them here for all the great info! Thanks to everyone who contributes to the board! It really does help to here that someone else is going through the same struggles and overcoming them.

Talk to you soon, Neise

Well, I haven't been on the Beach long enough to be thankful for much, but one BIG change has been my level of energy. I'm on day 3 of Phase 1 and I am already seeing a huge improvement. I have a 9 month old baby girl who doesn't quit, and now, thankfully, I'm finding myself better able to keep up with her throughout the house. I also noticed I'm not dragging mid-afternoon like I used to. Some days I would even nap when she did around 3 or 4. The past two days I've used that time to get things done around here, and that feel really good.

The first thing I am thankful for with SB is the knowledge and awareness of what "good" food is.
