Hi All,
I made (modified) split pea soup over the weekend. I just had my first bowl -- for breakfast, no less -- and it was really good.
I now have a question about peas and their various forms, and what they count as in SB eating.
Based on what I've read, this is my current thinking:
split pea soup is a legume; sugar snap peas are a vegetable; green peas are a starch (grain)
Since grains are where I have the most problem in terms of excess, I need to pay close attention to what goes toward that daily *allotment* as it were. And since bread and pasta products are processed grains, I'm trying to expand on my selection so as to avoid falling into the trap of breads, crackers and pastas because of their ease of access and preparation.
Any assistance will be appreciated. TIA

You've got all of your classifications correct.
I also try to limit processed grains and rely heavily on green peas, pumpkin and sweet potatoes, etc.

Cheese is an option, and isn't required at all.
