Hi!
Hope everyone is having a great holiday season! I was hoping I could get some ideas from you all..DH and I are going to the Bahamas for vacation:)....!! so excited!! I was hoping i could some ideas on healthy snacks to take with me..I plan on taking some granola bars and triscuts and PB, I've always had a tough time finding SB items and dont want to spend time traversing grocery isles on vacation!
If anyone can think of more veggie/fruit items, that would be lovely..I do plan on finding a farmers market/ organic food store for fruit and yogurt...but am looking for ways to load up on more veggie servings.
TIA!

I brought a lot of snacks with me last year when we went to Jamaica - it worked out really well. I brought a lot of different kinds of bars: SBD cereal bars, Kashi granola bars, plus SBD crackers and cookies (I like that they are in individual bags). I also brought dried fruit and nuts - the SBD trail mix is great if you can find it, also their chocolate covered soy nuts. I was a little worried about bringing the dried fruit though customs since they say no fruit - but it was pre-packaged, and I figured the worst that would happen is they would take it away, but we didn't get flagged or anything, so it was no big deal. Just remember to only bring sealed/unopened stuff.

A big help on the trip was the SBD Tide Me Overs - they really helped carry me through snack time if there wasn't anything readily available.

The hotels/resorts we have stayed at have always had a great selection of fruits, yogurt, veggies/salad, peanut butter, etc. so I didn't have to spend anytime looking for a market or anything. LAST place I would want to be on vacation!

This year we're going to Cancun in February and Belize in July and doing the same thing again, really traveling isn't that hard as long as you bring the right stuff and are prepared!

But an update on the southbeaching in the bahamas: i've been good, for breakfast i had leftover chicken breast, an apple and tea, snack was 2 apples and about 10 almonds,
lunch was rather an early dinner and we had the christmas buffet at the hotel..whch was very good-.. tons on veggies and lean protein..my only cheats were 1 tablespoon cranberry sauce, 4 tablespoons of chocolate cake a a bite of veggie lasagna.

i worked out(ran 5 miles!) and did upper and lower body work. so fingers crossed for the next 2 days!
