...water consumption?  When the people at work found out how much water I drink, they said I drink way too much.  Is that possible? If so, what are the downsides?  Anyhow, I was wondering what amount everyone else drinks?  Throughout the day and evening, I average 4 quarts.  I am not chugging it down, I just sip it throughout and refill when needed.  How about you?

I too drink about 3 liters a day, and that doesn't count the couple of cans of Pierrier water I also drink.

In the begining I was living in the washroom!!

I am pretty much in the bathroom constantly too, but I read or heard that it gets better at some point.

There is such a thing as drinking too much water.

While it is technically possible to drink too much, as Cathy said - its almost physically impossible for a person to actually do it. You would have to consume it much faster than your body processes it - so it really only happens when people are doing things contests where they are VERY quickly chugging large amounts of fluids. So time matters when it comes to water intoxication - its not only how much, but how fast.

I've always gone by the 1/2 your body weight in ounces. But that is just a base line minimum. If you workout, you need more. If you live in a hot climate, you need more. I weight 115, I live in a warm area, I workout out a lot. So I take my baseline of 57oz and add for exercise and weather - ends up being about 90oz per day.
