will I lose anything the first week?

Hi I'm new to the South beach diet and decided I'm ready for this kind of change. I've been skinny my whole life and had a baby 9 months ago and gained a TON of weight...which-you guessed it- I haven't lost (at least not that much of it). I have been on and off 'dieting' for a couple months and the past two weeks ate nothing but a sandwich a day. I know how unhealthy that is and if I countinued down that road I'll end up yo -yoing. Anyway- my question is will I still lose weight during phase one even though I will be eating more than I have the past couple weeks? I don't know if i will since i've essentailly 'starved' myself for a couple weeks. I justdon't want to all of a sudden gain 5 pounds instead of lose it. Either way I'm doing this for a healthier me. Just don't want too high of expectations if it isn't likely it I will lose anything.



You may lose weight the first week...or you may not.
I lost about 6-7 lbs during phase 1 (actually I'll be done with phase 1 tomorrow night but that's how much I am down so far).
